Jake Hendrickson was born in 1992 in New York State. His father worked in construction, and while Jake and his brothers did not grow up with a strong emphasis on church or religion, he spent much of his early life learning trades and working with his hands. After coming to faith, Jake began serving at Calvary Chapel Bangor through the Men’s Residential Program. In time, the Lord opened a door for Jake to serve in Kenya through an invitation from Pastor Josh Lawrence. Initially committing to six months on the mission field, Jake soon sensed the Lord’s call to serve full-time and relocated to Africa under Great Commission Ministries. Since then, he has faithfully used his skills as a laborer on GCM construction projects and joined evangelism teams reaching communities in and around Eldoret, Kenya. Jake’s conviction to serve has been shaped by the discipleship of godly men who encouraged him to use his talents to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He continues to serve diligently, building not only structures but also relationships that point people to the Lord.
